Understanding Trauma and Finding the Right Support

Research and Evidence:

Evidence shows that trauma can persist long after the original event — stored not just in memory, but in the body, nervous system, and even at a cellular level (Van der Kolk, 2014; Porges, 2011). Unresolved trauma may continue to affect our relationships, immune function, energy, and overall quality of life, even after years of talk therapy or personal development (Levine, 2010; Mate, 2021). Research increasingly highlights the role of the nervous system, fascia, and even mitochondrial function in the long-term effects of trauma — influencing emotional regulation, physical tension, fatigue, and chronic dysregulation (Schleip et al., 2012; Cox et al., 2021).

That’s why addressing trauma through an integrative model — combining psychological, somatic, and naturopathic care — is not only powerful, but essential. This programme brings all three together in a structured, evidence-based way to support lasting healing at the root.

What This Programme Offers

This 10-week 1:1 programme is designed for those who’ve already had therapy — perhaps even trained in it — yet still feel the effects of something lingering. Whether emotional, physical, or harder to define, this is an opportunity to address what hasn’t yet been met, processed, or fully integrated.

This is a unique, evidence-based, trauma-informed, body-centred programme that blends:

  • Advanced psychological therapy

  • Natural medicine

  • Somatic trauma work and TRE®

  • A personalised written psychotherapeutic and naturopathic plan

  • Weekly 75-minute one-to-one sessions

Clients often describe feeling calmer, more energised, more regulated — and finally safe in their own bodies.  As a result, relationships improve dramatically.

⚷ Chiron: The Wounded Healer

In Greek mythology, Chiron was a centaur known as the “wounded healer” — a wise teacher who, despite his own pain, helped others transform theirs. Unlike other centaurs, Chiron embodied compassion, intelligence, and healing through nature, medicine, and mentorship.

The Chiron Series honours this archetype, offering a structured and specialist programme for those who have already walked the healing path — the key philosophy in this program is that you, the client, are the wounded healer of yourself.  This work is here to support your innate capacity to heal, transform and return to wholeness.

About the Practitioner

Philippa Williams is a Consultant Psychologist, Clinical Supervisor, Naturopath, and published author. She is a respected specialist in body-mind healing, known for offering a grounded, evidence-based approach to trauma and emotional health.  Her work integrates advanced psychological care with cutting-edge natural medicine, drawing on over a decade of clinical experience across psychotherapy, somatic trauma resolution, and naturopathic science. Philippa is particularly known for her ability to safely support complex trauma, nervous system dysregulation, and the deep physical–emotional patterns that often remain after traditional therapy.

This programme brings together the full depth of her expertise — combining the safety and rigour of psychological therapy with the transformative potential of somatic work and natural, root-cause healing at a gentle, client-led pace.
